New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and his new coach Pat Shurmur seem to be getting along just fine. Beckham can be a lot to handle at times, and the star wide receiver didn't have the greatest relationship with his old boss, Ben McAdoo.

It was important when Shurmur came in to coach the team that he started off on the right foot, setting the foundation for a good relationship with Beckham. According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, the relationship got off to a great start, and Shurmer reminds Beckham a lot of his high school coach.

“From the moment we sat down and talked it’s been really beneficial to me. It reminds me of my relationship with my high school coach. I love everything he’s done.”

If Shurmer and Beckham can stay on the same page that is going to go a long way in how Shurmur will do with the Giants. After McAdoo was let go, he opened up about his biggest regret is the way he handed his superstar.

“I was too busy trying to scheme ways to get him the ball, especially early in my time in New York, that I didn’t step back and see the big picture the way I should have,” McAdoo says via NBC.

Beckham has a lot of antics that can be hard to deal with but are put up with because of his play on the field. If Shurmer and Beckham have a good enough relationship that some of those antics disappear it would be big news for the Giants.
