New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. recently made headlines with his comments regarding the team's struggles. However, it appears he has taken a much more optimistic approach after Week 5.
The Giants may have fallen short of getting their second win of the 2018 NFL season after a nail-biter against the Carolina Panthers. Fortunately, it seems Beckham has finally started to see some promise, according to Tom Canavan of The Associated Press.
It appears Beckham has had quite the change of heart regarding the state of the team. Just last week he was voicing his frustration with New York's apparent “lack of heart” as well as the approach on offense. However, their loss against the Panthers seems to have spurred optimism for the three-time Pro Bowler.
This should come as no surprise considering how he was utilized in Week 5. Beckham finished the game with eight receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown. He also managed to produce the highlight of the day with a 57-yard touchdown bomb to running back Saquon Barkley. The play was exactly the kind of innovation he had yearned for all season.
Regardless, the Giants are still in a 1-4 hole and find themselves in a must-win situation this week versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
