Like many other NFL running backs, New York Giants rookie Saquon Barkley is an impeccably-built individual. His tremendous body helped play a part in him going No. 2 overall in this year's draft. And now, everyone will get to see just about every inch of his 6-foot, 230 lb. physique.
As Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk notes, Barkley has agreed to appear on the new ESPN The Body issue, which is set to come out this week.
Barkley will join Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice on this year’s issue, along with Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe, Tori Bowie, Lauren Chamberlain, Jessie Diggins, Crystal Dunn, Charlotte Flair, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Dallas Keuchel, Greg Norman, Yasiel Puig, Adam Rippon, Breanna Stewart and Karl-Anthony Towns.

It’s certainly quite notable for Barkley to be featured in such a prestigious publication so early in his career. As if the fact that his playing in New York isn’t enough, this spot on the Body Issue should help increase his profile.
But obviously, it’s still a lot more helpful to his overall celebrity status if he can make an immediate impact as a rookie. He’ll have every opportunity to do so as the Giants’ featured back, who should figure prominently as the team looks to re-establish a running game which has struggled for the past few years.
