New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is reportedly feeling better after missing the team's game against the Washington Redskins due to injury.
Beckham was surprisingly ruled out prior to Sunday's 40-16 win in Washington, which led many to wonder about the severity of an ongoing bruised quad.
However, head coach Pat Shurmur seems to think that the star wideout is back on the right track after receiving treatment for the injury.
From Paul Schwartz of the New York Post:
“Odell came in and felt a lot better than he did Friday and Saturday and he sort of received some treatments over the weekend so he feels better,’’ Shurmur said. “So we’ll just see where that takes us. It’s too early to tell.’’
Schwartz also noted that Beckham's own response to his current status wasn't all that telling.
Beckham did not offer much of an update on his status. He did give a “thumbs up’’ gesture when asked how he was feeling. “Trying to get to two thumbs up,’’ he said.
Beckham has 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns this season, and he's secured four of those touchdowns over the past month or so.
The Giants have started to find a bit more momentum after a slow start to the season, with Beckham and company now at 5-8 on the season after winning four of their last five games.
Next up is a home game against the Tennessee Titans this weekend before finishing up the regular season with matchups against the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys.
