The NFL stood still when the New York Giants lost their top player early this season. Running back Saquon Barkley was ruled out for the season just weeks into their season and the team had to continue to try to move the ball without him.

Saquon Barkley joined Patricia Traina, the host of the daily Locked On Giants podcast, to discuss what it is like to be on his side of the injury. Barkley detailed the tough parts that he is having to endure, both the physical with the rehab and the emotional with watching the team move on without him.

Traina asked Saquon Barkley about the quality win the Giants picked up last weekend over the Seattle Seahawks.

Saquon Barkley: Yeah, it meant a lot. Especially when you are injured, you feel like you are forgotten to be completely honest because the train keeps moving. While you are in rehab, the season continues to go and you have to find a way to stack on wins. I do not think I ever got to a point where I felt like that. A lot of players continue to reach out and I continue to reach out to multiple players. I just try to continue to come into the locker room and you know, I do have my bad days mentally. I try to cover it with a smile and push through my rehab. My teammates are able to see that I’m going to come back better from this thing and still show love and support and try to be as supportive as I can whether it is win, loss, or draw.
