Star linebacker Von Miller joined the Los Angeles Rams via a trade and helped lead the team to their Super Bowl 56 victory. Miller rattled off nine sacks in his team's final eight games, including two in the Super Bowl win. The star pass-rusher cost the Rams under $1 million too, thanks to the Denver Broncos agreeing to pay off the remainder of his salary for the 2022 season. Los Angeles knows that they'll have to pay up to keep Miller, who is an unrestricted free agent, especially after his performance down the stretch. However, Miller might value winning more than a payday at this point in his career- and what better place to win than with this Rams team? That said, here are two reasons why Von Miller must return to Los Angeles next season.

2 Reasons Von Miller Must Re-Sign With Rams After Super Bowl

2. Von Miller already has gotten a big payday in his career

Von Miller has already received the post-Super Bowl payday, as he signed a mega contract in 2016 with the Denver Broncos worth $114.5 million over six years after signing the franchise tag following the team's win over the Carolina Panthers in the big game. Miller knows his worth. So do teams in the NFL. But what's the point of chasing another mega contract? It would be far more appealing for Miller to take less money in an effort to help the Rams keep this Super Bowl core they worked so hard to put together intact in 2022. Getting paid after winning a second ring would be like the cherry on top for Miller. However, returning to the Rams and possibly having a chance to win his third Super Bowl ring- and second straight- would be twice as nice.

1. Von Miller could help the Rams field a dominant defense- and win another Super Bowl

The Rams had a strong defense that played extremely well during their playoff run and in the Super Bowl. However, here's an interesting thing for Rams fans to think about. What if the Rams defense had an entire offseason for pieces like Von Miller, Leonard Floyd and Aaron Donald to gel together? There's the potential for the unit to be even better than it was this postseason, which is a scary thought for the rest of the league. Miller, who was already part of one dominant defense with the Denver Broncos, could very well be a part of another if he decides to re-sign with the Rams. With Miller and Donald still playing at high levels and Jalen Ramsey regarded as the league's best corner, there are playmakers on this defense capable of helping the unit put up one of the better statistical seasons in recent memory. Not only would that be an impressive feat in an offensive-minded era, but it would likely also put the Rams squarely in the Super Bowl conversation once again. It's something that Miller should seriously consider if he was even thinking about not re-signing with the Rams.
