Tony Romo has been announcing games since he retired from the NFL after the 2016 season. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback has been loved in that role. Many praise his abilities in the booth, and it appears ESPN has taken notice.
ESPN has made it blatantly clear that they want Romo as part of their team. It appears they are preparing to make him a massive offer. $10-14M annually to be exact.

That's a whole lot of money from ESPN. It should not surprise anyone that if Romo were to accept the deal, he would be the highest-paid sportscaster in TV history.
Romo has proven to be a very adept analyst. He is well-spoken and knows how to get his point across. At the same time, he is very knowledgable. Romo first became popular as a commentator when he started calling what plays were coming.
If Romo were to take the deal from ESPN, fans would likely get to see that on an even bigger stage. He would be in the booth for Monday Night football games. It does not get much bigger than that when it comes to the regular season.
However, it remains to be seen what the final deal is, and if Romo will even accept it. It wasn't that long ago that people were speculating that the quarterback would be back on the field soon.
Due to that, it's hard to really nail down what Romo's plan is. Could he want to get back on the field? Or maybe coaching is in his future? Maybe he wants to walk away from all of that for a little bit even. Of course, what ESPN is offering is hard to turn your nose at.
We'll just have to wait and see what Romo decides to do. It looks like ESPN is ready to do what it takes to get their man though.
