Every year there is excitement at the NFL Scouting Combine. This year, it might be a very different story. It's been reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that more than 150 draft prospects are organizing a boycott of all testing, on-field workouts and interviews at the combine next month.

On Saturday, an email from the NFL was sent out to all of the registered participants for the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. The email addressed the new COVID regulations that will be enacted at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the site of the combine.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero tweeted out the message sent from the league.

The NFL appears to be creating a bubble-type environment for the combine. Players can bring with them one medical personnel. Anyone with access to the players is required to be fully vaccinated and boosted. The players who are potentially boycotting the event are represented by 13 different agencies.

After dealing with massive team outbreaks during the 2020 NFL season, they turned it around in 2021. COVID-19 was not nearly as pertinent to the NFL season this past season. Despite the rise in the Omicron variant this winter, no major outbreaks existed within the league.

Clearly, the league is taking the pandemic seriously.
