The NFL's official Twitter account tweeted out the video of Roger Goodell's interview with ESPN where he implores a team to strongly consider signing quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

“Well, listen, if he wants to resume his career in the NFL, then obviously it's going to take a team to make that decision,” Goodell said. “But I welcome that, support a club making that decision and encourage them to do that.

Goodell said even if no team signs him, they would welcome him at the table to help make decisions on how to get things done in communities. According to Goodell, the NFL has invited him before and they will reach out to him again to make sure that everyone is welcome at the table.

“If his efforts are not on the field but continuing to work in this space, we welcome him to that table and to help us, guide us, help us make better decisions about the kinds of things that need to be done in the communities. We have invited him in before, and we want to make sure that everybody's welcome at that table and trying to help us deal with some very complex, difficult issues that have been around for a long time.

This is a big change from a few years back when there were rumors that Goodell and NFL teams kept him out of the league. It's clear at this point that with everything going on in the world, that more people are starting to understand what Kapernick was trying to say when he kneeled during the National Anthem.
