On Monday night, longtime NFL running back Arian Foster announced his retirement from the NFL. After going undrafted, Foster made four Pro Bowls, led the league in rushing in 2010, and led the league in rushing touchdowns twice.
Following his abrupt retirement in the middle of the 2016 season, social media reacted to the news:
Duane Brown, one of Arian Foster's closer friends had no idea he retired today. Said the fluidity he ran with was unmatched. Special player

Think of all the time Arian Foster has missed. Still no one has more 100-yard rushing games since 2010 (31) or TDs from scrimmage (65)

Arian Foster glided when he ran but also ran with power. Many backs have been compared to him along the way but he has yet to be duplicated.

Asked why former #Dolphins RB Arian Foster is retiring, it’s because his heart couldn’t take another rehab, even for a minor injury. Wow.
