Former Dallas Cowboys star and current CBS analyst Tony Romo can now call himself a three-time champion … in the American Century Championship that is.
Romo showed off his clutch gene after heading to a three-man playoff with Mark Mulder and Joe Pavelski. He won the second hole of the extra golf played, securing him his third trophy in Lake Tahoe.
The ex-NFL star scored a 62 in the three-day tournament. He was actually trailing Mulder by eight points heading to the third round, but a 25-point boost allowed him to tie and make it to the three-man playoff. Romo won the contest in 2018 and 2019.

For what it's worth, Tony Romo's victory didn't come as a surprise. He is one of the favorites to take the championship anyway, and considering how he is so used to winning on Sundays, everyone should have probably seen it coming.
Mulder and Pavelski tied for second, while Adam Thielen and Annika Sorenstam round out the top five. It is interesting to note, however, that Aaron Rodgers finished ninth in the celebrity golf tournament. Another former NFL player finished dead last in the competition, with Robert Griffin III ending up with -87 points.
In a rather beautiful and adorable moment, though, Romo's kids were seen celebrating after their dad's victory.
Cheering for dad! 👏

With the win, the ex-Cowboys quarterback is taking home the top prize of $125,000. That's not bad at all for a weekend of pure fun, play and celebration along with his NFL peers, fellow athletes and other golf aficionados.
