The Seattle Seahawks are well into the 2022 NFL Offseason, after missing the playoffs for the first time in four years. Seahawks star DK Metcalf took advantage of this time off and underwent foot surgery. He posted a photo of an Aircast on his left foot to his Instagram story Monday afternoon.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the procedure was minor, and it was to remove a screw that was inserted from a previous surgery.

The star receiver started off the season strong, but his productivity decreased after Week 4. In the October win over the San Francisco 49ers, Metcalf seemed to have aggravated a foot injury from five years before.

In September of 2016, Metcalf suffered a pedal foot fracture as a freshman at the University of Mississippi. His recent surgery, also on his left foot, was likely to remove to screw inserted from the 2016 injury.

According to CBS Sports, the Seahawks star had the procedure in January following the conclusion of the regular season. He should finish his rehabilitation process in the middle of March and be ready to go for Seahawks Training Camp and the 2022 season.

Metcalf finished the season with 75 receptions for 967 yards and 12 touchdowns. This is a great season for the average receiver, but there is a possibility that the foot injury had an impact on his productivity this year. Just last season, Metcalf had over 300 more receiving yards than he did this year (1,303 in 2020).
