The Seattle Seahawks got officially eliminated from the playoff race with a 25-24 loss at home to the Chicago Bears in Week 16. But even with the Seahawks‘ chances to make the trip to the postseason already extremely dim regardless of the outcome of that game, losing to the Bears in front of their home fans was a bitter pill to swallow for Pete Carroll, who spent some time talking about the errors and missed opportunities by Russell Wilson and Jason Myers.
Firstly, Carroll rued about a missed field goal by Myers, who used to be one of the best kickers in the league.

He makes them in his freaking sleep. “He is really, really good, so it’s unfortunate.” Like 10 of the Seahawks other 15 games this lost season.
Then Carroll also lamented what happened before that crucial Myers miss that could have given the Seahawks a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, in which the Seahawks got outscored by the Bears, 11-0. Before Myers' miffed kick from the 39-yard line, Wilson took a sack and lost some yards on a third-and-4 situation, thus leaving the kicker a longer range for a field goal attempt:
“I’ve got to get that done. I’ve got to get them to execute that way. I’ve got to get Russ to pull that off. I’ve got to get the coaches to make sure we reminded him well enough so that didn’t happen. “You sail out it out of the end zone right there, kick the field goal.”
Carroll's frustrations are understandable. For one, the Seahawks are going to miss the playoffs for just the third time under Carroll's watch. Nevertheless, Seattle has some games left to play and try to win for a better-looking record than their current 5-10 slate.
