It looks like one of the biggest offseason free agents—Frank Clark—could be off the market before any teams even get a chance. Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll kept it short and simple when asked about Clark.

“He will be with us,” was how Carroll put it. Seahawks fans can breathe a sigh of relief as they will seemingly retain their best pass rusher in 2019.

It's undetermined how the Seahawks plan to keep Clark, but they will according to Carroll. Seattle could be planning on placing the franchise tag on Clark or they have been working on a new deal under wraps.

As a result, with Clark staying put in Seattle, that lessens the field of pass rushers in free agency. Although, there are still plenty of talented guys like DeMarcus Lawrence or Dee Ford available.

The confidence of Carroll hasn't seemed to waver at all this season. He has been very vocal of his belief that Clark would remain on the Seahawks past 2018.

Clark was a phenomenal find for the Seahawks in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Since 2015, Clark has rounded up 35 sacks, 35 tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.

Keeping a player like Clark is important for a team like the Seahawks, who are trying to find their identity of being a tough-nosed team again. The Seahawks used to be feared as a defense when they made two Super Bowls—winning one.

This simple yet effective statement by Carroll provides some insight when talking about the future of Clark and Seattle.
