The talk around the Seattle Seahawks' offense this offseason was focused on their running backs, but through the first couple of games head coach Pete Carroll hasn't used them as much as maybe he would have liked. On Thursday, he admitted his impatience caused that.

Seattle only had 14 rushing attempts by running backs against the Denver Broncos, and against the Chicago Bears that number only went up to 19 despite the offensive line's struggles pass blocking. Carroll said the offense had issues getting going early and that led him to abandon running the ball.

“My impatience a little bit, you know, figuring that we should be on the board more than we had and just got to throw the ball up more than I want to. I’m over that,” Carroll said on Wednesday via Pro Football Talk. “Both games were so close throughout. We were close enough we could have done whatever we wanted to all the way down to the end of it. I just got a little bit impatient, threw the ball a bit more than we needed to, and so you look back and that’s with limited opportunities because we weren’t converting. It just kind of works together.

“I’m just owning up, but that’s what I would say is the issue with that. I need to be a little less impatient. I’m a little bit, tend to be that way, you know?”

The Seahawks have talented backs in Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny, who both have high expectations for this season, and it appears Carroll is going to try and use them a bit more than the first two weeks moving forward.
