Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson just hasn't looked like his usual self this season. Earlier in the year, the seven-time Pro Bowler underwent surgery to address a finger injury in his throwing hand and despite returning to action earlier than expected, Wilson has struggled to get back into shape.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll recently opened up about his star's current fitness level and even the 70-year-old shot-caller had to be completely honest about Wilson's recent struggles:

“I think it’s been a challenge in that regard, physically,” Carroll said, via Gregg Bell of The News Tribune.

The Seahawks suffered a 20-10 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday and Wilson had a rather forgettable performance on the evening. The Seattle QB completed just 17-of-31 passes for 156 yards and one interception. To be fair, Wilson was under a lot of pressure from the Rams' defense throughout the contest, but he still threw a handful of errant passes despite having a bit of room.

Tuesday's loss all but guarantees that the 5-9 Seahawks will miss this season's NFL Playoffs. It looks like it's going to be a long offseason for Russell Wilson, which could actually prove beneficial for him as the one-time Super Bowl champion looks to return to top form.
