Russell Wilson continues to pick up where he left off last season for the Seattle Seahawks in their season opener against the Atlanta Falcons.
Seattle ended its first possession of the second half with Wilson connecting on a deep throw from fourth down to sophomore wide receiver DK Metcalf, who found the end zone for a 38-yard touchdown. The score gave the Seahawks a 21-12 lead with 9:41 left in the third as they begin to pull away after a first half that ended at 14-12 in favor of Seattle.

This was the Wilson’s third touchdown pass of the game, after earlier connecting twice with running back Chris Carson in the first quarter to give Seattle an early lead.
Wilson, who is playing in his ninth season for the Seahawks, is looking to help coach Pete Carroll and Seattle improve on their 2019 season. Last season saw them finish with an 11-5 record, which was good for second in the NFC West. But they lost in the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the Green Bay Packers. The 31-year old finished the year with 4,110 passing yards and 31 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
Metcalf, meanwhile, is looking to continue a strong rookie season for the Seahawks. The 22-year old Metcalf played in all 16 of their games in 2019, finishing the season with 58 receptions, 900 receiving yards, which ranks third among rookies, and seven touchdowns. He tallied seven catches for 160 yards and a touchdown during their Wild Card win against the Philadelphia Eagles, breaking the league record for most receiving yards by a rookie in a playoff game.
