Many already considered Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Tom Brady as the GOAT even before Sunday's Super Bowl 55 victory. However, after bagging his seventh title in a win against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, only very few, if any, will challenge Brady's GOAT status now. Even the great Jerry Rice seems to agree.

Rice, who is seen by many as one of Brady's top contenders for the GOAT title, had a bit of a hot take on Brady's legacy following Sunday's spectacle. Moss acknowledged Brady's achievements, but also provided a bit of a caveat in his statement:

“I don’t have seven Super Bowl rings, but I think I played in an era when football was more of a contact sport. You’re seeing a lot of that now — players are protected,” Rice said on an interview on 95.7 The Game, via Michael David Smith of NBC Sports. “When you have seven rings, you’re doing something right.”

For his part, Rice didn't do too bad in his career in the NFL as well. A three-time Super Bowl champ, the Hall of Fame quarterback is a 13-time Pro Bowler, a 10-time All Pro, and a HOF All-1990's team, among others. However, as he said in his statement above, Brady's seven rings top his three.

Rice was willing to concede the GOAT title to Tom Brady, but not without reiterating his point about playing in different eras:

“I think with Brady, he still wants to play. He said something about playing until he’s 45,” Rice added. “I think he can do it now in this league because players are so much more protected. So, yeah, he can have that GOAT status. I never wanted that status anyhow.”

I don't know about you, but that didn't really sound like Rice never wanted the GOAT title.
