The Tennessee Titans seem to have a quarterback problem on their hands, but head coach Mike Vrabel says he will not be making a switch under center just yet.

When asked about whether or not the Titans were considering a change from Marcus Mariota, Vrabel said that it's “not something we're looking at right now, but that's something we always consider, every week,” via Teresa Walker of The Associated Press.

Marcus Mariota came into this season on the hot seat after a couple of lackluster years in a row in 2017 and 2018, and with Tennessee trading for Ryan Tannehill during the offseason, there was more pressure than ever on Mariota to produce.

The 25-year-old has not been terrible this year, throwing for 706 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 60.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 99.3 through three games, but his shaky performance in the Titans' loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night in which he completed just 23 of his 40 passes for 304 yards has some wondering if Tennessee should make a swap.

Titans’ first opponent in Cam Ward era finally revealed

In Mariota's defense, he was sacked nine times on Thursday evening, and he has been sacked 17 times overall this season. Translated over a full 16-game campaign, that comes out to 91 sacks, so the Titans are also clearly having some protection problems.

But this is now Mariota's fifth year in the NFL, and he has not shown any progression. One can even argue that he has regressed since an impressive sophomore campaign in which he threw 26 touchdowns and just nine picks in 2016.

Mariota is in the final year of his deal.
