Why The Blues Can Cover The Spread/Win

The St. Louis Blues are on a five-game winning streak, including wins against the Flames and the Wild. Speaking of the Wild, the Blues are now tied with them for second place in the Central Division, both with 94 points. While on this five-game streak, the Blues have looked fantastic as a group where they are scoring 3.64 goals per game on the season. But it's not all offense, their goaltending has stepped up in a big way as well. Ville Husso has proven that he deserves the number one goaltending position as he'll look to get another start in tonight's game. Throughout the season so far, Husso is 22-6-5 with a .924 save percentage and allowing just 2.38 goals against per game. He's been a nice compliment to this Blues offense as they'll look to improve on their winnings against a tough Bruins team.

Why The Bruins Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Boston Bruins currently sit in the wild card position in the East, just one point behind the Lightning for third place. The Bruins were one of the hottest teams in the league but have dropped two out of their last three games. Within those last three games, the Bs have scored seven goals but allowed 10 in the process. On the season, the Bs are scoring 3.13 goals per game. However, the Bruins are looking to stay hot as we can expect to see goaltender Linus Ullmark get the starting nod tonight. He's sporting a .912 save percentage while allowing 2.59 goals against per game. He'll look to shut down a streaky Blues team tonight.

Final Blues-Bruins Prediction & Pick

Both of these teams are going to make the playoffs this year and they need all the points they can get for that potential home-ice advantage. For now, though, the Bruins have been playing great on home ice this season and I think this will be a good test to see if they can hand against a team who has the same play style as them: very physical, finishing checks, getting in players' faces, making the other team scared. With that said, I think this will be a very close matchup, but I think the Bruins can pull out a win here on home ice. Give me the Bruins Moneyline tonight.
