The Denver Nuggets are fresh off an NBA Finals victory. It is no secret that superstar Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray led Denver to their championship. Stephen A. Smith took notice of the duo, ranking them atop his list of the best duos in the league heading into the 2023-24 season.

“Jokic and Jamal Murray, the reigning defending NBA champions,” Smith said on ESPN's First Take, via ClutchPoints. “Jokic is considered the best in the game right now. We got a guy in Jamal Murray who can close, himself… I got Jokic and Murray (as his top NBA duo).”

Stephen A. Smith's best duos

Smith revealed his top five duos overall heading into the new campaign. Trailing the Nuggets' stars were: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard at No. 2, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker at No. 3, LeBron James and Anthony Davis at No. 4, and Kawhi Leonard and Paul George at No. 5.

Boston Celtics fans will notice Smith left Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown off the list. This is surprising, especially considering the fact that although talented, George and Leonard have both missed a lot of time due to injuries over the past few years.

Regardless, it is Jokic and Murray leading the way for Smith.

Nuggets: Jokic and Murray are the best duo in the game

Nuggets' Nikola Jokic, Nuggets' Jamal Murray

Jokic, as Smith mentioned, is arguably the best player in the NBA. He is a talented center capable of shooting, finishing, passing, and more. Murray, meanwhile, is a superstar guard. He's also a quality distributor and can score at a high level.

Trying to contain Denver's lethal duo is an immensely difficult challenge for opponents. Jokic and Murray will attempt to lead the Nuggets to another NBA Finals victory during the 2023-24 season.
