History could occur in the final NHL game of the year. The Edmonton Oilers will face the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. We're here to share our Stanley Cup Final odds series, make an Oilers-Panthers Game 7 prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Oilers defeated the Panthers 5-1 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. Now, they have become the first team in 78 years to force a Game 7 in a Stanley Cup Final after trailing 3-0. Edmonton could become the second team in Stanley Cup history to win it after losing the first three games. Significantly, the only team that ever accomplished this was the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs.

Four teams have rallied from 3-0. Ultimately, those teams that came back included the 1942 Leafs, the 1975 New York Islanders, the 2010 Philadelphia Flyers, and the 2014 Los Angeles Kings.

But the Oilers look more menacing than any of them. Substantially, they destroyed the Panthers for the third game in a row. Things started hot when Leon Draisaitl found Warren Foegele with a majestic pass, and he put it in for the first goal. Then, the Oilers scored again after Adam Henrique put one into the net. The most controversial moment came when Aleksander Barkov had a goal waived off by a challenge, where the officials found Sam Reinhart to be offsides. Then, the Oilers struck again with a goal from Zach Hyman. Barkov scored early in the third period. However, the Panthers could not muster any more offense.

Why The Oilers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Oilers have turned things around because of an explosive offense and a defense that made some adjustments. Now, they have a chance to make Stanley Cup Final history.

Connor McDavid is gaining some Conn Smythe consideration due to his amazing performance in the Stanley Cup playoffs, where he has scored eight goals and 34 assists. Also, he has generated three goals and eight assists in the Stanley Cup Final. Draisaitl continues his excellent play after dishing an assist. Now, he is at 10 goals and 21 assists in the playoffs, including three goals in the Stanley Cup Final. Hyman has scored 16 goals and six assists in the playoffs. Additionally, he has delivered two goals and two assists in the Stanley Cup Final.

Evan Bouchard has been great, scoring six goals and 26 assists over the postseason and five assists in the Stanley Cup Final. Bouchard has also spearheaded the defense, with the penalty kill stopping 46 of the last 47 penalties they have faced.

But that defense has been nothing compared to Stuart Skinner. Remarkably, Skinner has stopped 81 of 84 shots for a .964 save percentage after struggling over the first three games.

The Oilers will cover the spread if McDavid and Draisaitl set the pace. Then, they need another elite performance from Skinner.

Why The Panthers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Panthers have one of the most talented teams in the league. However, they are on the verge of collapsing, and they need their offense to generate some scoring.

Matthew Tkachuk has six goals and 16 assists in the postseason. However, he failed to score in Game 6 and only generated one goal and two assists in the Stanley Cup Final through six games. Barkov now has eight goals and 14 assists, including two goals and three assists in the Stanley Cup Final. Now, he hopes to finish what he could not in last year's final.

Carter Verhaeghe has 10 goals and nine assists in the playoffs. Unfortunately, he has gone missing in the Stanley Final, with a goal and an assist, and nothing else lately. Anton Lindell also failed to help the offense do much of anything.

But nothing has been worse than the collapse of Sergei Bobrovsky. After playing out of his mind over the first three games, he has fallen down to Earth. Consider the fact that Bobrovsky stopped 80 shots out of 86 for a .930 save percentage over the first three games. Then, consider the fact that he has only stopped 46 of 58 shots for an ugly .793 save percentage over the last three games. Which Bobrovsky will we get in this one?

The Panthers will cover the spread if they can prevent the Oilers from firing out of the gates and score first. Ultimately, it means that Borbrovsky must play well, and the defense must contain McDavid and Draisaitl.

Final Oilers-Panthers Prediction & Pick

The first few games looked like we were going to get an easy series win by the Panthers. Then, a switch turned on. The Oilers emerged out of the woods, and they exploded out of the gates in Game 4. Next, they went into Florida and destroyed the Panthers again. Game 6 proved to be no different as the Oilers blasted the Panthers again. Will Game 7 be any different? Many see McDavid as the greatest player in the game and one of the best ever. Now, it is time for him to cement his legacy. McDavid leads the Oilers to a historic Game 7 win, completing the comeback from 3-0 and giving the Oilers the Stanley Cup win.
