The Orioles make the trip to St. Louis to face the Cardinals! These two teams are very different with the Orioles being one of the best teams in the MLB, while the Cardinals have struggled and can not find much consistency in the year. Our MLB odds series has our Orioles-Cardinals prediction, odds, and pick for Tuesday.

The Orioles are entering this game with a 29-15 record. They are a top-10 offense behind the plate so far this season and their pitching has been very improved and is a top-five staff on the mound. The Orioles have so much young talent behind the plate with Jordan Westburg, Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, Anthony Santander, Cedric Mullins, Colton Cowser, and Ryan Mountcastle making up the bulk of it, but there's even more too. They improved their pitching this past offseason by adding Corbin Burnes to go with Grayson Rodriguez, Dean Kremer, Cole Irvin, and Albert Suarez. The Orioles were the best team in the AL last season and they somehow improved this season and are in a battle with the Yankees as the best team in the AL.

The Cardinals have struggled this season and they have a 20-26 record. The Cardinals have struggled across the board on both offense and defense. It is a massive reason behind their struggles this season because they can not find much consistency across the board as a team. Brendan Donovan, Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Gorman, Masyn Winn, and Willson Contreras have at least tried to stand out on a bad offense. On the mound, Kyle Gibson, Lance Lynn, and Sonny Gray have been solid for a unit that has struggled as a whole this season. This will be an interesting matchup because the Cardinals have been very inconsistent compared to the Orioles.

Why The Orioles Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Orioles are going with Kyle Bradish on the mound and he has a 0-0 record, a 2.63 ERA, and a 1.32 WHIP. Through 13.2 innings, he has allowed four runs on 12 hits with six walks and 17 strikeouts up to this point. The Orioles are 3-0 in his three starts this season. In his last start, he pitched four innings and allowed two runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts in an Orioles win. Bradish has played in limited capacity this season, but he has been very good and gets a favorable matchup against a bad offense like the Cardinals.

The Orioles' offense has been one of the best in the MLB. They are tied for eighth in team batting average at .247 after finishing last season with a .259 batting average. The offense is led by Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson, and Colton Cowser lead the way in most of the batting categories. Adley Rutschman leads the way in batting average at .309 and in total hits at 55. Henderson leads the way in home runs at 15 and then in RBI at 31. Cowser then leads the way in OBP at .371. This offense will have a big matchup against Lance Lynn on the mound for the Cardinals, who has been inconsistent overall.

Why The Cardinals Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Cardinals are starting Lance Lynn on the mound where he has a 1-2 record, a 4.17 ERA, and a 1.48 WHIP up to this point in the season. Through 45.1 innings, he has allowed 26 runs on 47 hits with 20 walks and 43 strikeouts. In his nine starts this season, the Cardinals have gone 4-5. In his last start, Lynn pitched five innings where he allowed four runs on eight hits with two walks and five strikeouts in a Cardinals loss. This will be an interesting matchup for Lynn because of how good the Orioles have been behind the plate.

The offense for the Cardinals has struggled across the board this season. They are 20th in team-batting average at .232 after finishing last season with a .250 batting average. Masynn Winn, Nolan Gorman, and Nolan Arenado lead the way for the Cardinals in most of the batting categories. Winn leads in batting average at .281, and in OBP at .340. Arenado leads the way in RBI at 22 and in hits at 48. Nolan Gorman leads the way in home runs at seven.

Final Orioles-Cardinals Prediction & Pick

The Orioles are the better team in this game when compared to the Cardinals. The Orioles have the better offense behind the plate and they have the better pitcher with Kyle Bradish compared to Lance Lynn. Kyle Bradish and the offense is the difference, even with Lynn on the mound. The Orioles should win and cover on the road against the Cardinals in this spot thanks to them being the more complete team.
