The Green Bay Packers are handing the reigns to Jordan Love this season after a long run of elite quarterback play from Aaron Rodgers, and general manager Brian Gutekunst is liking the early returns from Love's play in preseason.

“There's things that not everybody sees but little mistakes that I think he's going to really grow from,” Brian Gutekunst said in his press conference. “And then there's things that maybe didn't affect the play. And there's successes that he had, too, that gives him confidence to move forward. So, I think it was just really, really good.”

Jordan Love connected with Christian Watson for a touchdown in the Packers' 19-15 win over the Seattle Seahawks in the preseason finale. The Packers hope that connection with Christian Watson is seen a lot this season. Gutekunst said the preseason was valuable for Love and the offense as a whole, but there is still more to learn throughout the regular season.

“when you pt those guys out there, sometimes you'r a little bit — we haven't done that a lot around here,” Gutekunst said. “But I think it was such an important thing to get out of it clean where he played really well, I think that was a real benefit to our offense. So, I'm excited about it. But I don't know if I really learned a ton. I think it was just really good for him and our offense.”

Love and the Packers start their season on the road against the Chicago Bears in week 1.
