Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers fell short in his pursuit of a second Super Bowl ring this year when the Packers were stunned by the 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round. Unfortunately for the star quarterback, a Super Bowl ring wasn't the only ring he'd lose this winter.

According to TMZ Sports, Rodgers and his fiancée Shailene Woodley have called off their engagement, putting an end to the relationship after less than two years together:

Rodgers and Woodley began seeing each other in 2020, shortly after the Packers star split with NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. Rumors emerged in December that Woodley and Rodgers had split, but the latest reports suggest that the two have officially called things off.

The pair revealed their engagement to the world back in February 2021, with the Packers QB even expressing a desire to have children with Woodley. According to In Touch Weekly, Rodgers was rumored to have been getting cold feet on the prospect of marriage and started prioritizing his NFL career over his relationship with Woodley. The report indicates that Woodley felt “neglected” by Rodgers in their relationship.

Rodgers was caught in controversy in November after testing positive for COVID-19 despite having told the NFL and the Packers he was immunized. Despite the flak he faced, Woodley stood up for her then-fiancée, defending him against the swaths of haters:

“While Shailene is supportive of Aaron’s career, he put football first and they were barely spending any time together,” a source told In Touch Weekly. “She felt he neglected their relationship. Neither of them was happy.”

That same source described Rodgers as being an “independent guy” but insisted that both parties split amicably in the end.
