Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been hailed as the 2020 NFL MVP, marking the third time he received the award in his already Hall of Fame-worthy career.

The 37-year-old signal-caller became the sixth player in NFL history to win three or more MVP trophies, joining a prestigious list that includes Peyton Manning who won five, as well as Jim Brown, John Unitas, Brett Favre and Tom Brady who each have three.

“It is really special to have won it in my fourth year as a starter and now to win it in my 13th year as a starter in a new offense is pretty amazing and something I am very proud of,” the Packers star said, per Associated Press. “To have sustained success and be able to play your best football at 37 in my 16th season is something I take a lot of pride in.”

After being an understudy to the legendary Favre in his first three years in Wisconsin, Aaron Rodgers emerged as a primetime player and is now considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. In his 15th season in the league, Rodgers still led the NFL in several statistical categories, including completion percentage, touchdown passes and passer rating. Fellow quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills all enjoyed phenomenal seasons, but it was no doubt the Packers QB who shone the brightest this year.

He led the Packers to the top of the NFC North Division with a 13-3 record. While Green Bay eventually succumbed to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Conference Championship, there's no denying Rodgers is still the most deserving of the recognition.

Rodgers recorded a total of 4,299 passing yards, 48 passing touchdowns, and five interceptions in 16 games played this season.
