Former Cleveland Browns linebacker Christian Kirksey, unfortunately, encountered an injury-plagued season in 2019, one that ultimately led to his departure. After being released by the Browns, Kirksey managed to quickly sign on with the heralded Green Bay Packers en route to going from one franchise that only knows losing to one that knows quite a bit about winning.

“I just felt like a winning presence,” Kirksey recently told Matt Schneidman of The Athletic . “I went to the University of Iowa and it kind of reminded me of that, like the atmosphere. The town had similarities, and also Mike Pettine. I had a great relationship with him. Just seeing how he coached then, he drafted me. It just felt at home. It felt like it was the right decision. Sometimes you can’t stray away from your gut feeling. That’s what I went with was my gut feeling and also just a winning organization. The culture there, I wanted to be a part of.”

A third-round NFL Draft pick from back in 2014, Kirksey only won a total of 24 games over the course of his first six professional seasons, all of which came as a member of the aforementioned Browns.

On the other hand, Kirksey was a part of a whopping 71 losses as his 24 wins were the fewest in the league during that same span. Not only that, but no other NFL franchise won less than 32 games or lost more than 70 since Kirksey originally broke into the league with the Browns.

Luckily for the veteran linebacker, the Packers should do quite a bit of winning in 2020.
