The Green Bay Packers defeated the Cleveland Browns, 24-22 on Christmas Day. While the victory was an important one for Green Bay's chances of holding onto the NFC's number one seed, it was also very important for other reasons. It was a historic night for Packers head coach Matt LaFleur.

No head coach in the history of the NFL has ever done what LaFleur has accomplished in his first three years with the Packers. With the win over the Browns, LaFleur has now won at least 12 games in each of his first three seasons.

LaFleur shockingly has a winning percentage above .800. He has helped the Packers rise back up to the upper tier of the NFL and has rejuvenated quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who won an MVP last season while playing under the leadership of LaFleur.

However, for all of the great coaches in the NFL, none of them have ever won 12-plus games in each of their first three seasons like LaFleur has. The only roadblock towards the Packers head coach being viewed as an elite leader is his middling, 2-2 postseason record.

LaFleur has clearly had plenty of regular season success. However, he won't get the respect he truly deserves until he can finally break through with the Packers in the NFL Playoffs.

Maybe this will be the year.
