The Green Bay Packers were defeated in Week 7 and quarterback Jordan Love continued to struggle. To make matters worse, Green Bay lost to an abysmal Denver Broncos team. Nevertheless, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is still confident in Love despite the QB's recent struggles.

“Our confidence in him is not wavering one bit,” LaFleur said. “Certainly as the playcaller you put a lot of onus on yourself when things aren't going well, and we'll continue to do that, but we've got to find a way to generate more points because when you're generating points, it's just a totally different narrative.”

Packers: Jordan Love expectations

Packers' Jordan Love, Packers Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay never got much of anything going in Week 7 against the Broncos during their 19-17 loss. Love did throw for two touchdowns, but he recorded just 180 passing yards and was picked off once. He also went 21-31 through the air.

Nobody expected Jordan Love to step in and immediately post Aaron Rodgers-like production. Rodgers endured his ups and downs after initially replacing Brett Favre. However, Rodgers obviously found his footing and became a Hall-of-Fame QB.

Placing those kinds of expectations on Love is not fair, but Green Bay does seem to believe that Love can become a reliable option under center in the NFL.

Love discussed the Packers' frustration following their loss to Denver.

“We all know it's ups and downs, but I think everyone's very frustrated,” Love told reporters after the game, via Ryan Wood of USA Today. “We've got to find a way to win. Got to find a way to win these games. We've been put in this position multiple times where it comes down to offense have to go win the game, and we have not capitalized on that.

“So we've got to find a way, just that margin of error, and we are not capitalizing on these end-of-game situations. I think going forward, I think the situations are going to keep coming, keep being there until we find a way to capitalize and go win.”

Love and the Packers will have an opportunity to bounce back in Week 8 against a rival in the Minnesota Vikings.
