The Green Bay Packers are gearing up to host the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, but there are a few key players whose status remains unclear. Key Packers players such as Randall Cobb, Za'Darius Smith, Jaire Alexander, and David Bakhtiari have been battling injuries throughout the year. With the Divisional Round looming, Matt LaFleur provided a crucial update on a couple of the aforementioned players ahead of the clash with the 49ers, via Rob Demovsky.

LaFleur revealed on Wednesday that Cobb had been “green-lighted” to play against the 49ers, which would mark his first appearance since Week 12 when he suffered a core muscle injury. Getting one of Aaron Rodgers' favorite targets back on the field for the Packers' playoff opener is a huge boost for the offense.

As for Bakhtiari, LaFleur said the offensive lineman is set to go through practice today and the team will evaluate him afterward in order to paint a clearer picture as to his availability for Saturday's game. Bakhtiari featured in the Packers' Week 18 loss to the Detroit Lions, in what was his first appearance of the season. He only played in 40% of the team's snaps as he builds up his conditioning. The Packers will surely be hoping the veteran tackle will be able to take the field against the Niners.

Getting Cobb and Bakhtiari back will not only improve the offense, but it would make Rodgers' day a lot easier having two of his most trusted comrades out there alongside him after having played most of the season without them.
