Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery left Thursday night's game against the the Chicago Bears with what has been reported as broken ribs.

ESPN's Ian Rapoport quickly released the news regarding the injury via Twitter:

ESPN's Adam Schefter added that Green Bay is currently uncertain of how long the Stanford product will be out.

Montgomery suffered the injury during the Packers' opening drive and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest. The third-year player out of Stanford could be sidelined somewhere between one to two months should further tests indicate that his ribs have indeed been broken.

Montgomery wasn't the only Green Bay running back who got hurt on Thursday night. Rookie Jamaal Williams also suffered a knee injury in the second quarter, leaving Green Bay with only two healthy running backs: Aaron Ripkowski and Aaron Jones.

Since making the switch from wide receiver to running back in December of last year, Montgomery proved himself as a viable weapon in the Packers' offense. The 24-year-old finished the 2016 season with 77 carries for 457 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He also became a more visible target in Green Bay's passing game under his new role, finishing the season with 44 receptions for 348 yards.
