Pastor Tony Evans’ wife is Dr. Carla Crummie. Crummie was born in the year 1970 in New York City, according to reports. She studied at Michigan State, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education.
After completing university, Crummie would go on to finish her Master’s Degree in Education at Cambridge College. Later on, she was officially given a Honorary Doctorate by the Denver Institute of Studies, based on sources.
After completing her studies, Crummie served as an Advancement Officer at Carver College. Here, she reportedly launched a handful of events, including voluntary work.
Crummie positively affected several ministries, including the women’s ministry, couples ministry, and AWANA Commander to the Ministers’ Wives Ministry. Back in the day, Crummie married Reverend Dr. Robert Crummie. He served as the president of Carver Bible College while also serving in the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

It’s not really known when and how the couple met. However, Evans and Crummie work together for The Urban Alternative. As a result, it wouldn’t be surprising if the couple met there. But four years after the passing of Lois Evans due to biliary cancer, Evans announced that he was engaged with Crummie.
In celebrating his 74th birthday, Evans announced to the public, “As I work through the ups and downs of singlehood, God, in His sovereignty, has brought someone into my life. This someone has traveled this similar road. Carla Crummie and her husband were on their way to Lois’ funeral when her husband died. As I’ve tried to share the ups and downs of my life with you. I wanted to share this and give you the opportunity to meet my new fiancée, Miss Carla Crummie. It’s a sensitive time. During a time like this, you’re also reminded of loss. And so I want your sensitivity as you pray for me as we walk through this journey, as she walks through the grief that she’s had to walk through.”
A few months later, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony that only included their close friends and family in Dallas during the Christmas season, based on reports.
With the couple sharing their vows, Crummie now serves as the stepmother to Evans’ four children from his previous marriage. These include Chrystal Hurst, Priscilla Shirer, Anthony T. Evans Jr., and Jonathan Evans.
