Jalen Reagor has had a difficult start to his career since the Philadelphia Eagles made him a first-round draft choice out of TCU in 2020. He had 2 seasons with the Eagles before he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings, and after an underwhelming season in the NFC North last year, Reagor did not do enough to make the team this summer. However, he will get another opportunity as the New England Patriots have added Reagor to their practice squad.

This is not the ideal destination for Reagor, who should get an opportunity to play for the Patriots early in the season. The key will be how fast he can learn the New England playbook and get on the same page as quarterback Mac Jones.

Reagor had his most effective season with the Eagles in his rookie year. He caught 31 passes for 396 yards and 1 touchdown. He had similar numbers the following year when he caught 33-299-2, but it was not good enough to maintain his position with the Eagles. They traded him to the Vikings where he had a chance to back up Justin Jefferson.

Ironically, the Vikings drafted Jefferson one spot after the Eagles selected Reagor. It did not work out with the Vikings, as he caught 8-104-1 a year ago.

The Vikings drafted Jordan Addison of USC with their first-round pick last April, and that made it a long shot for Reagor to remain in Minnesota.

The Patriots don't have a great deal of talent at the wide receiver position, so Jalen Reagor will have a chance to turn his career around if he can impress offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien and head coach Bill Belichick.
