Philip Rivers finally hung up his cleats after the 2020 season with the Indianapolis Colts, wrapping up an impressive 17-year career in the NFL. Rivers spent the first 16 seasons of his career with the Chargers before his last hurrah with the Colts.

While Rivers is out of the NFL, he's not done with football. In fact, the 39-year-old is now loving life as a high school football coach at St. Michael in Alabama. He's 1-0 as the head coach after a 49-0 shellacking in his “special” coaching debut on Thursday night.

“It's the process that makes it awesome,” Philip Rivers said after the win. “Tonight was special. Shoot, I'm looking over and Dad's standing on the track, Mom's in the stands, my boys are spotting the ball, my brother is here coaching … it was that kind of night.”

Rivers got into coaching because of his father, who coached Philip while he was in high school. The former NFL quarterback would love to coach his sons in high school in the future.

Philip Rivers hasn't ruled out a return to the NFL, but he certainly seems to be digging his life as a football coach right now. Also, he's not the only former Colts quarterback to be doing some high school coaching. Andrew Luck recently attended a practice at a high school in Colorado and helped out, including playing some scout team quarterback.
