The Phoenix Suns have been notorious through the years for being more than willing to put draft prospects through the wringer in order to assess their capabilities.

In this latest video of internal workouts, they put Kentucky freshman shooting guard Malik Monk through their infamous three-minute run, in which they are forced to do court-length sprints until the time runs out.

Monk got to 25 before time expired. The record? A whopping 28 3/4 lengths in a tie by Philadelphia 76ers point guard T.J. McConnell and Tyler Haws.

While this seems like a very excessive way to test one's level of fitness (especially considering some players have been recovering from end-of-season injuries), the Suns aren't the first franchise to put this kind of rigorous method to practice.

The Miami Heat have actually been putting on a weekly weigh-in for their players to ensure they don't go over their expected weight. Aside from a brutal workout routine and a rule that does not allow for putting one's hands in one's own knees, Heat teammates have also been known to police each other outside of the facility, keeping each other accountable for their eating habits.
