A lightning delay caused some brief confusion before the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers played on Monday night. That's because SoFi Stadium, the home of the Chargers, is an indoor stadium.

According to Raiders coach Jon Gruden, per Pro Football Talk, he thought the whole thing was a joke.

“I’m not an engineer, I have no idea. I have never heard that. I thought it was a joke. But it affected both teams,” Gruden said.

After the lighting delay and once the game went final, it was the Chargers who came out on top over the Raiders, 28-14. LA got superb quarterback play from Justin Herbert and the Chargers never trailed throughout the night.

On top of the lightning delay, Gruden was not a fan of the visiting locker room at SoFi Stadium, to put it lightly.

“The locker room here is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen. I mean you can’t see anybody. It’s like a maze. So whoever contorted this visiting locker room, I’d like to meet this guy, see what his idea was,” Gruden said.

Despite the lightning delay causing some brief chaos, Gruden said it had no bearing in the Raiders losing the game to LA.

With the loss, the Raiders and Chargers are now both 3-1 on the season. Las Vegas will look to bounce back when they host the Chicago Bears in Week 5 while the Chargers have another top tier opponent on the schedule with the Cleveland Browns visiting LA.
