The Las Vegas Raiders were selected as the team to be featured on HBO's Hard Knocks in 2019. As this year's installment featuring the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers begins, Tyrell Williams sounded off on the ‘distraction' of Hard Knocks last season.

“Last year, going through it, it didn’t feel like a big distraction until now and how smooth and how easy it has been,” Williams said, via the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “So last year I think it definitely was a distraction. We tried not to let it be, but I think it did get to some of us. It was just kind of annoying for sure. We have guys [now] who are excited to be here and guys that are excited to get on the field. Last year, we just couldn’t be ourselves, couldn’t really enjoy, couldn’t really settle in.”

Williams, who signed with the Raiders last offseason, didn't realize how much of a distraction that Hard Knocks was until this year. While Las Vegas has begun training camp this season, Williams sees the differences in how players are acting without cameras being around.

In his first year with the Raiders, Williams contributed 42 receptions for 651 yards and six touchdowns. Despite the additions Las Vegas made this offseason, Williams figures to have a prominent role in 2020.

Having Hard Knocks is a decent way to give a behind-the-scenes look at the training camp experience in the NFL. On the flip side, players understand that almost everything they do will be caught on camera. With no camera crew around this offseason, Williams believes the Raiders can settle into their own in 2020.
