One of the most notable moments of the 2017 NFL season came during a heated scuffle between Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib and Oakland Raiders wide receiver Michael Crabtree. It's the second time in as many meetings that the two have gotten into it with one another.

Although both players have found new homes this offseason, fate could not wait to pit them against each other as soon as possible. The Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens are set to take part in a joint practice before squaring off in a preseason exhibition.

Despite the obvious intrigue of another potential showdown, Talib insists that he is focused on his craft more than Crabtree, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times:

“Just going out there to get some work,” Talib said. “Just going to play football.”

It appears head coaches Sean McVay and John Harbaugh are well-aware of the bad blood between these two. However, they have made it clear that any unnecessary action will not be tolerated.

“We can’t afford to get anybody injured for unnecessary scuffles, different things like that,” McVay said. “If we don’t follow the rules, we won’t be able to participate.”

These warnings are likely just one of many precautions the sides will take to make sure players are not encouraged to fight with one another. However, the only way to potentially prevent such an instance would be to make sure Talib and Crabtree are not matched up. Of course, this is highly unlikely given they are the top players at their position for their teams.

It goes without saying that there is no love lost between the two players. As former AFC West Division rivals, Talib and Crabtree used any opportunity they had to get into a scuffle. This ultimately resulted in helmets getting thrown and chains getting snatched. The Rams and Ravens are hoping to avoid any confrontation as they prepare for the 2018 NFL season.
