Following their first season of not going to the playoffs under Sean McVay, the Los Angeles Rams will have a monumental offseason in 2020, highlighted by decisions of retaining players and staff.

One such player the Rams must decide on is outside linebacker Dante Fowler Jr., who, after signing a one-year deal in the 2019 offseason, will be a free agent come March. For what it's worth, Fowler wants to be back in Los Angeles, but knows that may not be possible considering their cap constraints.

“It would be nice to stay with the best player in the league, A.D. (Aaron Donald), and have Jalen (Ramsey) and me and Cory (Littleton) — that would be really cool. But there’s so many good players on this team, and I know how the business goes,” Fowler told Gary Klein of the L.A. Times.

The Rams brought in Fowler, the No. 3 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2018 trade deadline. In doing so, they bolstered their edge-rush, as he's tallied 13.5 sacks in 23 career games with the Rams. He has 11.5 in 2019.

“I would love to stay here and see if something worked out,” Fowler said. “I know they have their hands full, so we’ll just see how it works out.”

Fowler wants to be back, as he feels he has a home in Los Angeles, as opposed to Jacksonville. However, considering their massive contracts given to other players, the need to re-sign linebacker Cory Littleton, his age (25), his position, and his recent production, bringing him back may have to contain a hometown discount.
