Veteran wideout DeSean Jackson just confirmed he is leaving the Los Angeles Rams after the team failed to find a trade for him at the deadline.

On Instagram, the 34-year-old wide receiver delivered his parting message to the city of LA and the Rams organization, thanking them for welcoming him even just for a brief period of time. Jackson signed with the team during the 2021 offseason, but he hasn't gotten a lot of chance to play in such a deep squad.

“I am very grateful for the time that I spent playing for the LA Rams. Although this isn’t the outcome that we wanted, I am extremely appreciative for the opportunity & support given to to me by the Rams Coaches & all of the Fans. I understand that everything happens for a reason & I look forward to beginning the next chapter of my NFL career. Thank you,” Jackson wrote.

As reported earlier, DeSean Jackson was willing to stay with the Rams after their failed trade efforts. However, the team apparently made the decision to let him go and find a team where he can secure more playing time.

Jackson is heading to the waivers after his release is completed, though it remains to be seen where he'll end up with. He could definitely be a huge contributor though, as he has proven in Week 3 when he made three receptions for 120 yards and one touchdown.

While he's no longer as dominant as he used to be, it's clear he still has a lot left in the tank to contribute to a winning team.
