After spending the last three years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, Eric Weddle is now a member of the Los Angeles Rams, and he seems thrilled to be playing with cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters.

As a matter of fact, he feels the Rams' cornerbacks may be the best group he has ever played with:

“Those guys are super, super smart,” Weddle said of the cornerbacks, per Grant Gordon of NFL.com. “The instincts are off the charts. Play-making ability. … Those two are the best I've ever played with in my career of guys that play with vision, play the ball, understand routes, trust a safety that is going to alert them and put them in a position to make plays knowing that I have their backs. I'm extremely excited to get on the field with them, give 'em those live reps, live-game atmosphere and take this secondary to the next level.”

Weddle, who played his collegiate football at the University of Utah, was originally selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round (37th pick overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.

He spent nine seasons with the Chargers, making three Pro Bowl appearances while earning a couple of First-Team All-Pro selections along the way. He then went on to sign with the Ravens in 2016 and ended up notching Pro Bowl honors in all three of his seasons with the club. In 2018, Weddle played in all 16 games and totaled 68 tackles and a sack.

The Rams won 12 games and made it all the way to the Super Bowl this past season before falling to the New England Patriots.
