The NFL announced new policies regarding COVID-19 protocols that will go into effect for the 2021 season. Some players aren't too thrilled about the new rules put into place, especially considering it favors vaccinated players more than unvaccinated ones. Los Angeles Rams star Jalen Ramsey was the latest player to show his frustration with the new rules.
In fact, Ramsey went on a wild rant regarding the new rules.
Some of y’all clearly didn’t get what I’m saying here lol.. the NFL is pressuring/ “influencing” guys to get the vaccine. They are saying if there is an outbreak, the team will be penalized heavily. My point is no teammate of mine will feel that pressure from me because… https://t.co/odRnl7xUUZ

Just because my teammate(s) personally decide not to get the vaccine, I won’t think they are a bad teammate. That’s all 😂
It’s all love 🤟🏾— Jalen Ramsey (@jalenramsey) July 22, 2021
Yeah, the Rams star is not happy with the NFL's decision, which encourages players to get the vaccine. The NFL's new policies are intricate and a bit complicated on the surface, but Tom Pelissero of NFL Network has a short rundown.
So to recap, if an outbreak of unvaccinated NFL players causes a game to be canceled:
– Infected team forfeits, takes a loss for playoff seeding, faces financial penalties and possible additional sanctions if protocols violated
– Players on both teams don't get paidMore👇👇 https://t.co/sTZlI57cdz

So, essentially, being vaccinated helps, and Ramsey will not hold it against his Rams teammates if they aren't vaccinated.
After a 2020 NFL season that included multiple games getting moved, the NFL went to the drawing board and came up with new rules to prevent that from happening as much as entirely possible.
The NFL season kicks off in September and it will be worth monitoring to see how many players get the vaccine after the announcement. Either way, the Rams Pro Bowl defensive back is not happy with the decision from the league.
