Jalen Ramsey has just become the highest-paid DB in NFL history after he and the Los Angeles Rams agreed to a whopping five year, $105 million contract. His extension will give him $21 million per year for the next five years with a guaranteed $71.2 million upon signing.

Unsurprisingly, Ramsey was filled with gratefulness and extreme joy after his new mega-deal with the Rams.

“As a kid playing football in Nashville, I always dreamed big, but I never could have imagined that I would be living beyond my dreams and experiencing this reality. To be playing football at the highest level, on the biggest stage in Los Angeles, is something for which I'm extremely grateful,” Jalen Ramsey mentioned in his tweet.

The agreement seemed to take longer than expected, as the Rams (as well as the entire league) tiptoed their way to an unprecedented offseason with the coronavirus pandemic taking center stage.

The Rams' training camp was a little unusual to say the least, so it's definitely a relief for Ramsey to finally get this out of the way and prepare for the upcoming NFL season. It was his first official training camp with Los Angeles, and per head coach Sean McVay, he has been more than impressed with his second-year cornerback.

Ramsey had an impressive first season with the Rams, tallying 33 combined tackles in just nine games so far. He had an instant impact on the team's defensive unit and paired perfectly with six-time Pro Bowler Aaron Donald.

With both Ramsey and Donald leading the way, the highly touted Rams defensive line is poised to have a huge season this 2020. Look for Ramsey to prove himself worthy of his nine-digit contract as he begins his second season with the team.
