The Los Angeles Rams are bringing a familiar face back to the defense. And as expected, they offloaded some future draft capital in order to do so. According to Ian Rapoport, the Rams and Browns agreed to a trade to send safety Troy Hill back to LA, while the Browns will receive a future fifth-round pick.

Hill, a former Oregon Duck, has played most of his NFL career with the Rams, and now he's set to return to LA for another stint. Hill joined the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015 after going undrafted out of the University of Oregon. He featured in just three games as a rookie for the Bengals before joining the Rams in 2016.

Across five seasons with the Rams, Hill was given significant playing opportunity, and made the most of it. Throughout 70 career games in the blue and yellow, Hill recorded 212 tackles, 7 interceptions, 29 pass defenses, and 3 fumble recoveries.

He latched on with the Browns on a two-year deal worth $9 million. He's set to make $1.5 million in base salary for the Rams in 2022.

Hill started just 4 games of the 12 he played in for the Browns, recording 49 tackles and just 1 pass defense on the season. After a less than stellar year in Cleveland, Hill will return to the defense where he's played best throughout his career and look to help the Rams run it back for another Super Bowl run.

Hill will likely compete with Grant Haley and David Long Jr. for opportunities at cornerback opposite Rams superstar defender Jalen Ramsey.
