Veteran kicker Mason Crosby could potentially find a new home for the first time in his 16-year NFL career. Crosby had been the reliable leg for the Green Bay Packers for much of the past two decades. He entered the 2023 season as a free agent after the Packers decided to move on from their all-time kicking leader.

The Los Angeles Rams could be the team that Crosby makes his comeback with. Crosby is working out with Los Angeles on Wednesday amongst a group of potential kicking options, via Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. The Rams signed Lucas Havrisik after the release of Brett Maher, but they're still on the market for a surefire starter.

Maher finished his short stint with the Rams having hit 17-23 field-goal attempts. However, he mightily struggled in the past few weeks. Los Angeles took a gut-wrenching 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in Week 7. Their final seven-point deficit could be linked to Maher missing two field goals and one extra point.

At 3-4 the Rams are fighting to stay alive in the postseason hunt. They can't afford to have a kicker they can't count on in crucial situations. While Los Angeles is sure to have plenty of long-term options to replace Maher, Mason Crosby is a kicker who has proven he can succeed in clutch situations.

The 39-year-old holds an 81.4% career field-goal percentage, which ranks at No. 56 all-time. His career-long is 56 yards and he's accounted for 112 points in 16 years, while sinking 94.9% of his extra points.
