Saved from the despair that is playing for the Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford is the new quarterback of the Los Angeles Rams. The ability to play for a coach known for his offensive genius is not lost on the veteran.

In fact, he seems downright giddy about the entire thing.

“There’s things I’ve done in the past that I think make sense to him and make sense for our offense,” Rams gunslinger Matthew Stafford said, via Gary Klein of the L.A. Times. “There’s also things that I’ve never been exposed to that are in this offense that I’m trying to learn and make second nature to myself as well.

“So, it’s been fun. We’ve been able to kind of bounce ideas back and forth off of each other, and we’ll figure out what this thing looks like come August, September.”

Obviously, Rams fans are hoping Matthew Stafford has enough left in the tank to help the team in the upcoming season.

There's decent reason to believe some of his best years were wasted in Detroit. While there's no need to pile on all the talking points already made about his stint there, with a new place and a coaching staff known for getting the most out of gunslingers wither lesser-than talent, the Rams and Matthew Stafford seem like a match made in football heaven.
