The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the brink of earning a second straight trip to the World Series. Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has since started to show his appreciation.

Gurley sported the jersey of shortstop Manny Machado during a recent press conference. He says the Dodgers' playoff run is serving as inspiration for him, via the team's official Twitter:

“[The Dodgers are] one game away from going to the World Series back to back. When you see stuff like that, it's just more like inspiration. You want that feeling as well.”

It is encouraging to see the camaraderie developing between the notable athletes in Los Angeles. This is not the first time he Gurley has been seen wearing the threads of another superstar. He was also one of the recipients of a jersey giveaway by Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James. There is some serious star power emerging from the city.

It is no coincidence that Gurley was wearing Machado's jersey. Prior to joining the Dodgers, he had established himself as a bonafide all-star while playing for the Baltimore Orioles, which is where Gurley was born. It is clear that the two have come quite a long way since then.

There is plenty of Gurley to be inspired by when it comes to the Dodgers. Both sides share aspirations of winning a championship after a bit of a drought. The Dodgers were upset in the World Series last year, however, have managed to put themselves in position to finish the job. Todd Gurley is hoping some of their championship magic can rub off on the Rams this season.
