Los Angeles Rams cornerback Darious Williams earned a pick-six against Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in the second quarter of the NFC Wild Card game. The Rams' first touchdown of the afternoon, the interception was also the third time Williams has picked off Wilson this season in as many games.

For a team in desperate need of a hero, Williams delivered:

Taking Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf as his assignment on the play, Williams deftly anticipated the quick-out action by Wilson and bullied his way past Freddie Swain, who tried to serve as an emergency blocker. With his momentum carrying him in front of Metcalf, Williams was in the perfect position to snare the pass, which hit him right between the numbers. Once in possession of the ball, it was off to the races for the cornerback as he left the wide receiver trailing behind as he entered the end zone.

Given that the Rams offense has been unable to move the ball for much of the afternoon thanks to an injury to John Wolford that knocked him out of the gameā€”and forced the already injured Jared Goff back into actionā€”the score by the defense was critical for a team starved for points.

With another half of football remaining, Williams' touchdown continues to be the difference in the game.
