It appears as though former Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator and interim head coach Raheem Morris has already found his next job. According to a recent report from Josina Anderson, Morris has agreed to become the next defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams, a team that lost its now-former defensive coordinator to the crosstown rival Los Angeles Chargers over the weekend.

Head coach Sean McVay wasted absolutely no time in replacing current Chargers head coach and former Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, who will remain in the City of Angels despite receiving a promotion through another franchise.

Perhaps there is a reason that the aforementioned McVay didn't waste any time in tabbing Morris as his next defensive coordinator as the longtime NFL assistant coach and the former head coach was receiving immense interest on the open market. Most notably, new Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer was apparently keen on hiring Morris as his defensive coordinator as the ex-collegiate coaching standout continues to gear up for his first go-round atop the highest level.

Morris began the 2020-21 campaign as the defensive coordinator of the Falcons, who eventually fired former head coach Dan Quinn as Atlanta struggled mightily through the first few weeks of the regular season. In the absence of Quinn, Morris was then promoted to serve as the team's interim head coach and even received consideration to step into such a role on a full-time basis this offseason.

Even though the Falcons didn't reach the postseason in 2020-21, the team no doubt showed significantly more promise and competitiveness under Morris' direction.
