Although the Super Bowl has yet to officially get underway, emotions are already running high — at least on the Los Angeles Rams sideline, that is. Upon arriving at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday afternoon, Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips could be seen sporting quite the memorable outfit, a get-up that was worn in honor of his late father, “Bum” Phillips.

With the younger Phillips paying homage to his father ahead of his team's matchup against the heralded New England Patriots with the following hat and jacket combo, this could be a sign of good things to come for a very well-rounded Rams defense.

“Bum” Phillips, who notably passed away back in 2013 at the age of 90, served as the head coach of the Houston Oilers between 1975 and 1980 in addition to the New Orleans Saints between 1981 and 1985. With his son, Wade, leading one of the top defenses in the league, his grandson, Wes, is currently serving as an assistant coach with the Washington Redskins.

Although living in his father's shadow at times, Wade has accomplished his fair share of accolades atop the highest level as well. A former NFL head coach himself, Phillips perhaps achieved his most notable goal back in 2015 as a member of the Denver Broncos coaching staff. Phillips won a Super Bowl title as the Broncos defensive coordinator, a role that he took on after stints as the head coach of both the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys.

He has served as the Rams defensive coordinator for the last two seasons.
